Every panel we build is routine tested before it leaves Morbi, and a test certificate goes out with the order. Buyers occasionally treat that as a formality. It is the last opportunity to find a problem while the panel is still standing next to the people who wired it, rather than bolted to a plinth several states away.
Before anything is energised
The first pass is visual and mechanical. Barriers and separation are checked against the approved general arrangement drawing, doors and withdrawable units are operated, interlocks are proved, and earthing continuity is verified from the earth bar to every hinged door and mounting plate. Torque values on busbar joints are checked and marked, because a joint that is merely tight is not the same as a joint that is correct.
Electrical verification
- Insulation resistance between phases, and between each phase and earth.
- High voltage withstand test at the value the standard requires for the rating.
- Continuity and correctness of the control wiring against the schematic, ferrule by ferrule.
- Functional testing of every control circuit: start, stop, trip, interlock and indication.
- Protection relay settings entered, verified and recorded as dispatched.
Functional dry run
Where the panel includes a PLC or drives, the logic is exercised on the bench with simulated inputs. Sequences are stepped through, alarms are forced, and the operator interface is checked against the cause and effect list. Finding a reversed interlock at this point costs an hour. Finding it during commissioning costs a day and somebody travelling.
Documentation and packing
The panel is dispatched with the as-built drawing set, the routine test report, relay setting records and component datasheets. Shipping braces are fitted, loose items are boxed and labelled against the packing list, and photographs are taken before the crate closes. For larger orders we arrange site commissioning support so the same checks can be repeated after transport.
If your specification includes additional tests, tell us at the quotation stage rather than after fabrication, and we will build the schedule around them.
